Derminator® digital dermaneedling cartridge (single needle). Needle diameter 0.15 mm. (38 SWG, 34½ AWG).
A single-needle cartridge is very useful for treating narrow scars such as certain stretch marks. Also, any time you need to treat a very small skin area, a single needle is a much more accurate choice.
Bajonet fitting. Align the slots in the cartridge with the protrusions on the tip of the hand unit, push the cartridge on firmly and while pushing, rotate the cartridge right a quarter turn. If you don't do this, the device won't needle the set depth and the cartridge may fly off (and the magnet out).
This cartridge needs much force to put on.
Can be re-used, but it's not easy to fully clean the cartridge when blood has entered, neither is it easy to fully remove the water around the spring so rust may occur if it's not flushed with alcohol.
Cartridge lifetime depends on needling frequency, treatment duration, number of treatments and skin thickness. When treatment starts to be more painful or the machine starts to have trouble reaching the set depth, the needles have become blunt and it is time to replace the cartridge.
Gamma-sterilized. The needles are made of surgical steel and do not contain nickel. Cartridges can be reused on the same patient after disinfection with Ethanol according to our instructions. Do not use Chloramine-T because this will rust the spring. Also water can rust the spring, when any of it remains, so it has to be flushed out with some (cheap denatured) alcohol after cleaning the cartridge vigorously under a stream of water, pushing the plunger in & out until blood residue has been flushed out. Do not use Dettol - it contains chloroxylenol, which can dislodge the needles.
The needles in this cartridge are of perfect quality. We encourage our customers to look at the tips through a strong magnifying glass and compare them to the needle tips of other brands.
This is the only cartridge that works properly with the Derminator®, even though other cartridges may fit on the machine. The Derminator requires a certain spring pressure and cartridge geometry to work properly and on the correct (set) needling depth.
DUE TO THE UNIQUELY HIGH SPEED OF THE DERMINATOR'S PATENTED LINEAR ACTUATOR, THIS NEEDLE, WHEN MOVING, WILL NORMALLY BE INVISIBLE UNDER ORDINARY LIGHTING / BACKGROUND CONDITIONS, ESPECIALLY UNDER THE STROBOSCOPIC EFFECT OF MODERN LED OR TL LIGHTING. IT WILL ALSO BE NEARLY SENSATIONLESS, IT BEING A SINGLE, THIN, SUPERFAST NEEDLE. THIS MAKES SOME PEOPLE THINK THAT THEIR CARTRIDGE IS FAULTY BECAUSE THEY CAN NEITHER SEE NOR FEEL THE NEEDLE. YOU CAN VERIFY THAT THE CARTRIDGE WORKS CORRECTLY BY NEEDLING A PIECE OF PAPER ON A DEEPER NEEDLE LENGTH SETTING AND NOTICE THE HOLES AGAINST THE LIGHT.
